COUNCIL EVENTS AND CHARITY DRIVES

PANCAKE BREAKFASTS-  This is a traditional event that the Knights put on to help bring together its Community.  Typically, pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon, juice and coffee are served for an affordable price.  This event is for individuals and family members.

Annual Golf Outing- This event is an exciting and fun event to run or play in.  It is another opportunity to do a fund raiser that brings together members of our Community.

Bingo Night- The Knights assist a local Bingo Hall in the operation of its events once every 6 weeks on a Saturday.  For our time and effort, we receive monies donated to our council.  This is a fun event to help in and it does bring in much needed funds every 6 weeks!  Please check the Calendar for the next Bingo Night.

Tootsie Roll Drive- This is our most important fund raiser each and every year!  Typically, each year in the middle of September, we walk the streets of Bolingbrook and generate revenue from car donors.  For their donations, we give them a roll of Tootsie Rolls that have the Knights of Columbus logo on it.  The revenue generated goes toward the Mentally Handicapped children of our Community.  Amongst other things, we throw a Christmas Party for the children.  (See MH Christmas Party)

MH Christmas Party- Every year The Knights of Columbus throws a Christmas Party for the Mentally Handicapped children in our Community.  At this event, Santa usually arrives on a Fire Truck and hands out presents to all of the special children.  Breakfast, pictures, presents, music and Santa are all provided to the families from the funds raised by our Tootsie Roll Drive.  (See Tootsie Roll Drive)

Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge- At the council level in September, the Knights hold a one day tournament that challenges the accuracy of the kicker.  Age groups between the ages of 10-14 are held for both boys and girls.  Each group's winner will receive a trophy and move on to the District Level tournament.

Knights of Columbus Free Throw Challenge- At the council level in February, the Knights hold a one day tournament that challenges the shooting abilities of the basketball player.  Age groups between the ages of 10-14 are held for both boys and girls.  Each group's winner will receive a trophy and move on to the District Level tournament.

Texas Hold-em Poker Tournament- This will be held in the St. Dominic's School Gym from 12pm to 12am on Saturday, November 17, 2007.  This event will have 20 poker tables and will include three different buy-in Tourneys and many cash tables.  The event has the possiblity of being the most fun and profitable fund raiser in the year.

Family Christmas Party- Each year the Knights of Columbus will hold a party for the immediate and extended members of their families.  This event will have activities and entertainment for the children, food for the entire group and pictures with Santa.  This event is only open to the families of Knights.  This is definitely an event to remember for the family!
